The Last Powerstar
There’s no doubt that Honeycombes have always been willing to go that extra mile for their customers and the recent case of ‘The Last Available Powerstar 7800’ serves to demonstrate that point.
When Lloyd Campbell (Campbell Grazing Co.) was searching for his next prime mover, he approached Warrick Hill at our Truck and Machinery Centre in Townsville. He explained that he had owned his current IVECO Powerstar 7700 for several years. He had been really impressed with its performance and reliability and as a result, he was looking for a similar replacement. After some searching, Warrick finally found ‘The Last Available Powerstar 7800’, located at the IVECO dealer in Mount Gambier, South Australia.
As part of the deal, Warrick agreed to ferry the truck back fromMount Gambier back to FNQ which took him around three days to complete. The truck was duly fitted with additional fuel tanks, making a total fuel capacity of around 2,350 litres.

The 7800 is fitted with a 600Hp Cummins engine coupled to an Eaton 18 speed manual transmission and is rated to 140 tonnes. It will haul three trailers, each with two decks of livestock. Lloyd will be using it mainly for transporting cattle between his QLD and NT properties and the meatworks.
