Going the Extra Mile: Honeycombes Team Members Step Up for Stranded Truck Drivers
At Honeycombes, we’re all about lending a hand - whether it’s to our customers, colleagues, or those who just need a little extra support. With the recent North Queensland floods leaving truck drivers stranded along the coast, two of our team members stepped up in their own ways, proving that a little kindness goes a long way.
Bud Taylor, our Group Parts Manager, and his wife, put on a BBQ at their home in Home Hill, offering stranded truckies a sausage on bread and a place to rest while they waited for the roads to clear. Then, as those same truck drivers made it to Ingham the next day, Donna, rocking her signature John Deere Crocs, welcomed them all into our Ingham branch, making sure they had a coffee, a break, and a place to recharge.
What makes this even better? Neither Bud nor Donna knew the other was doing it—they both simply saw a need and took action. That’s the kind of people we’re lucky to have on our team.
These small but powerful acts of kindness show exactly what Honeycombes is all about - going above and beyond to support not just our customers, but anyone in the community who needs a helping hand. We are incredibly fortunate to have these amazing people as part of our Honeycombes community and we couldn't be prouder of the people they are.
A huge thank you to Bud and Donna for leading by example and showing what "Making It Easy" truly means. These moments remind us what true community spirit is all about.
